BRANDING - USER INTERFACE DESIGN

Aksys challenged Stream to create a user interface for their dialysis machine that was non-threatening and could lead patients through a confusing process in an intuitive way. Current navigation through the process was chaotic and laborious due to text based content.

We created icons that were easy to understand in any language. For example, just touch a picture of a body part to tell the system where it hurts. Simple, clean graphics lead you through each procedure, leaving little room for error. Our feeling was that you spend a lot of time with this interface and it should be beautiful to look at as well as easy to use. Large text areas allowed for the varying word sizes of multiple languages to support the icon.
